Who will be leading the group?

Who is it for?

For any Year 2 teacher in a Sustaining school, involved in Cohort 1 (September 2021 start) of Mastering Number, and continuing with the programme this year.

What are the intended outcomes?

Do you want to provide support for parents of children working through the Mastering Number programme? With the support of maths specialists, this project will enable teachers to encourage engagement from parents with the Mastering Number programme. Participating teachers will be given resources that will enable them to design and run workshops for parents, therefore increasing their understanding and support.

What will it involve?

3 half day, afternoon sessions:

• An introductory session, where teachers will be provided with a set of slides that can be used directly with parents in a workshop (including an electronic pack of materials for each year group that includes details of tasks and a home learning diary)
• The collaborative planning of individual, school workshops
• An opportunity to reflect on the impact of the workshops and consider next steps
