Will NCETM Teaching for Mastery approaches align with White Rose or other schemes?

Many schemes use a mastery approach, and their materials can be used in conjunction with SHaW Maths Hub Professional Development programmes. We can help you by providing opportunities to develop teacher pedagogies and practices. Seeing real lessons and reflecting with others will allow you to develop best practice in maths in your school and provide support for improving the outcomes of your pupils.

"The focus is on improving the quality of teaching. Excellent maths teaching requires good content knowledge, but this is not sufficient. Excellent teachers also know the ways in which pupils learn mathematics and the difficulties they are likely to encounter, and how mathematics can be most effectively taught." - Education Endowment Foundation, Improving Mathematics at KS2 and KS3, 2022

"Networks of support, such as the Maths Hubs, provide regular and highly useful training. This helps teachers to adopt new and improved ways of explaining and modelling concepts." - Ofsted – main findings; Research and analysis; Coordinating mathematical success: the mathematics subject report; Published 13 July 2023
