The programme will have the following elements:

  • Four online workshops
  • Independent study, setting-based learning and evaluation
  • Online discussion as part of a professional community

Who will be leading the group?

Sue Evans and Fiona Wood

Sue and Fiona are Primary Maths Teaching for Mastery Specialists, NCETM PD Accredited leads. and also now work for NCETM on the primary programmes, including Mastering Number. Both are experienced Primary Maths subject leaders, with MaST qualification. Sue and Fiona have both worked collaboratively to develop national EYFS Work Groups. Sue has worked for NCETM to develop Video Lessons and Ready to Progress Criteria materials

Who is it for?

Early Years teachers who want to develop their specialist knowledge of teaching number. Bookings are limited to one place per school for this Work Group.

Joining details will be sent by email approximately ten days before the first workshop and will be noted in the Basecamp community for the participants of this Work Group.

What are the intended outcomes?

Pupils will:

  • have increased opportunities to explore concepts at a developmentally appropriate level.
  • be able to communicate their maths and mathematical thinking through graphical representations and/or appropriate language.
  • demonstrate a positive attitude towards maths, be willing to have a go, persevere and share their mathematical ideas.
